Trisodium phosphate solution is used to maintain the boiler water pH and prevent or control scale and deposit formation. The formation of scale and sludge can cause failures, restrict circulation, reduce system efficiency and compromise the boiler system’s reliability.

Trisodium phosphate solution precipitates calcium and magnesium hardness from boiler feedwater, creating suspended solids which are discharged via blowdown. This solution can also act as pH adjuster.
